The Living Goodness of God - David Mitts

4Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? (Romans 2:4 (NKJV))

We are created for a treasure; the treasure is called the goodness of God.

21“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. (Matthew 6:21 (NKJV))

It is this treasure, which makes our lives transform from the lower life into the realms of being truly human and truly alive.  Yeshua spoke of this transformation in terms of losing our lower life in order to receive eternal life.

25“He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. (John 12:25 (NKJV))

Earthly life: outer form, hole inside.versus

God’s goodness:different form and complete.

The power of eternal life, is a treasure given from heaven called the “Goodness” of God.  It is a powerful magnet that draws us to Him.  It is true food and true drink for our eternal spirit.
31In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” 32But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” 33Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?” 34Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. (John 4:31-34 (NKJV))

We are created to eat and drink of His goodness!!  His goodness is the tangible stuff of the Kingdom of Heaven.  It is NOT of this earth and cannot be manufactured in this dimension.  It is the stuff of eternity, the true reality.

It was manifested to the Children of Israel in the desert as manna.  Even though manna was NOT the goodness itself, listen to results it produced:
3“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. 4“Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. (Deuteronomy 8:3-4 (NKJV))

Manna which is connected to the Word of God kept Israel from disease and clothing wearing out.  This is a picture of eternal life coming from the goodness of God.  Gods goodness transforms our reality from one bound to this physical realm, with its food sources that bring, at best, limited benefits, to eternal life sources which make our being resonate.

When we learn to receive His Goodness, we bring a reality to our lives that is of His realm , thoughts and feelings that are His realm.
The Scriptures speak of this as the mind of Christ.

[14] But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. [15] But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. [16] For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (NASB)

This means we know things and feel things that are spiritually available to us. Like what? Marriage covenant.  Caring for the sanctity of our body.  Emotional purity. Compassion for the lost. Healing for the sick. Faith.

Turn with me now to Psalm 107:

1 Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever. (Psalms 107:1 (NKJV))

The actual Hebrew says “Give a hand to Yahweh, out of eternity is chesed, loving-kindness.
Chesed: This word is translated as mercy of loving-kindness.  The Hebrew word is made up of 3 letters, the Chet, the samech, and the dalet.  Dalet means door, Samech is the picture of a circle, signifying eternity and chet is the word picture for a gate, or a hedge around something, like a pen or a shepherd’s protected area.  So, chesed is that which opens the door into eternity providing a shelter or an enclosure of safety.  Now, why is this mercy??  Mercy implies something undeserved. In our word of cause and effect, we feel unworthy of love.  We know that we have been selfish and have acted as we saw fit often without thinking of others.  We are starving for another reality that is NOT of our origin.  This is chesed.  God’s goodness wants to draw us to an eternal source of kindness, of mercy that transforms us in how we think and feel. Let’s continue in Psalm 107:2-7

2Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,
3And gathered out of the lands,
From the east and from the west,
From the north and from the south.
4They wandered in the wilderness in a desolate way;
They found no city to dwell in.
5Hungry and thirsty,
Their soul fainted in them.
6Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble,
And He delivered them out of their distresses.
7And He led them forth by the right way,
That they might go to a city for a dwelling place. (Psalms 107:2-7 (NKJV))

The redeemed are those who have said “YES” to His invitation to trust Him.  That is redemption!  He takes us when we feel like lost wanderers hungry to find a sense of home.  He gives us a reason for living, a “right way” and brings us to a destiny.

8Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
9For He satisfies the longing soul,
And fills the hungry soul with goodness.
10Those who sat in darkness and in the shadow of death,
Bound in affliction and irons—
11Because they rebelled against the words of God,
And despised the counsel of the Most High,
12Therefore He brought down their heart with labor;
They fell down, and there was none to help.
13Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble,
And He saved them out of their distresses.
14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death,
And broke their chains in pieces.
15Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
16For He has broken the gates of bronze,
And cut the bars of iron in two.
17Fools, because of their transgression,
And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.
18Their soul abhorred all manner of food,
And they drew near to the gates of death.
19Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble,
And He saved them out of their distresses. (Psalms 107:8-19 (NKJV))

Do you hear the cry of the Psalmist?  If we will cry out in our trouble, He will release from eternity, goodness.  We have only to trust Him!!

The Psalm continues but I want to step out of it for a minute and ask a question:  Have we traded true food and drink for junk food?  What happens when we satisfy our hunger or thirst with junk food?  It takes away our appetite for a little while but then what?? We feel empty because.. you can never get enough of what you don’t really need.

God’s goodness is here today.  He wants us to taste and see that He is good.

8Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! (Psalms 34:8 (NKJV))

If we open our heart and trust Him, He will release blessing into our lives, the blessing of true goodness that makes all of our life special and alive with love.

Meekness: The Key to Our Destiny Manifested - David Mitts

Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth (Matthew 5:5)

Every ministry has a purpose or a set of purposes that The Lord brings people together to accomplish through their relationship and the combination of gifts and talents of that group of people.

One New Man Ministry has been a place of healing since its inception.  Randi Lechner at one of our prophetic conferences declared the name: One New Man: A Healing Place.

Over the years, we have utilized “healing technologiesphysically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually to be a venue for healing.  These include, my practice, FFI courses, the School of the Spirit, Fire and Glory soaking, prophetic impartations and a healing of our spiritual genetics through the restoration of authentic Hebraic Roots.

Healing occurs against a background of honor.  We gravitate towards honor.  The scriptures state that when we honor and are honored, we are in a culture of blessing and healing.

16‘Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. (Deuteronomy 5:16 (NKJV))

Certainly, we would agree that long days, a state of well-being and an inheritance in the Land which the Lord has for us is indeed healing and restoration.  We can also see the connection to honor.  Honor is recognition of correct and proper alignment.

It should be obvious to honor our father and mother.  Yet, because rebellion is bound up in our heart, we have to be instructed to align ourselves correctly.

15Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child;
The rod of discipline will remove it far from him. (Proverbs 22:15 (NASB))

Discipline removes the foolishness of our rebellious nature.

Discipline is the application of meekness.

Meekness is the constraint of power to the task at hand.  The mother lion has the power to destroy her cubs, but she constrains herself out of love and picks them up gently.

The Israeli army has the power to obliterate Gaza and Hamas.  But because they recognize that to do so, is to use power without meekness, without honoring that there are people in Gaza who are pawns of the regime, the army drops pamphlets and makes phone calls to warn residents of their impending attacks.

Meekness is discipline.  Another word for meekness is diligence.

4Poor is he who works with a negligent hand,
But the hand of the diligent makes rich. (Proverbs 10:4 (NASB))

Diligence is the way we describe a disciplined person.  They do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done.  This is meekness and true humility.  Humility is not just the apology but also includes doing what needed to be done.

Now, when we see that meekness is really discipline then we can begin to understand how it is necessary to our inheritance.  We cannot operate in dishonor and walk in our destiny.

What do we need to honor?  Well first and foremost the Lord.  But, what does it mean to honor the Lord??  Well the Hebrew word for honor is Kavod, which means weightiness.  When we honor the Lord, we give the greatest weight to His Word, His instruction set.

Well we know His general instruction set.  But generalities do not produce specific results.  We need specifics.  This involves work on our part.  We need to know His specific will in our lives.  This begins with recognizing the real problem is not even His will but our own.

You see we are automatically wired for our own will.  It is why we resist doing what we know we need to do.  There is an inherent stubbornness; an iniquity in our being that sabotages our accomplishing what God has in store for us.

This takes the form of worry.  Worry is from the kingdom of mammon, which is biblical code word for self will.

24“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
25“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27“Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 28“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29“and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30“Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32“For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:24-34 (NKJV))

What we don’t immediately realize is that worry and mammon are the same kingdom.  Worry is the result of serving mammon.  Mammon is serving myself.  The problem is that at the root of that is the idea of self-worship.  I want to be god.  Or put another way, I want to live with illusion that I am in control of my life.  This is mammon.  The solution is to seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.  When we do that, then Yeshua promises us that we will have life, food, clothing, etc

It isn’t the life, food and clothing that are the problem, but the worry.  Worry is anti-meekness.  Meekness is the disciplined use of power and available resources to accomplish our destiny, our inheritance.  Worry is the mental activity of avoiding the disciplined work living in fantasy of an illusionary world that is rooted in unreality.

Worry requires chaos.  Meekness requires order.  Worry lives in the darkness of what if’s, Meekness lives in the light of accountability and disciplined focus and action.  Worry-Mammon says to itself, I’ll get to it someday and then carries those half-promises in the mind dissipating all creative energy and replacing it with fantasies, Meekness, organizes and seeks out kingdom truth, honoring authorizes in areas of weakness and walks into a concrete inheritance.

Church has done a very poor job of practically imparting Biblical truth.  Meekness has been replaced by shame-based false humility instead of being heralded as a disciplined programmed systematic progression towards an inheritance.

Meekness requires a system.  It actually describes a system.  The mind cannot operate well left to its own imaginations.  This is chaos.  We never think of what we need to be thinking of when we need to be thinking of it.  Instead we think and act on what is in our thoughts and imaginations.  This is mammon, doing what is right in our own eyes, and it produces worry, stress, sickness and chaos.  It produces death to our destiny.

It is time to become teachable.  It is time to pursue destiny.  We are a house of Destiny.  We are building a Destiny House, which will come to pass through disciplined planned action by meek people.  Are you one of them????

Restoring His Life to the Belly - Charles D Harris

The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly. (Proverbs 20:27 KJV)

The Hebrew word for belly or womb is beten בטן
The word picture is the house that surrounds life.

"The abdomen (commonly called the belly) is the body space between the thorax (chest) and pelvis. The diaphragm forms the upper surface of the abdomen. At the level of the pelvic bones, the abdomen ends and the pelvis begins.
The abdomen contains all the digestive organs, including the stomach, small and large intestines, pancreas, liver, and gallbladder. These organs are held together loosely by connecting tissues (mesentery) that allow them to expand and to slide against each other. The abdomen also contains the kidneys and spleen." - Web MD

These organs produce and process things for our body that provide us with life.  The word picture is also of a womb with a baby which represents life.

Listen to Message

Lets start from the beginning...It is Good...
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, [it was] very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Gen 1:31 KJV)

9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. (Gen 2:9 KJV)

The Hebrew word for good is Tov טוֹב
The word picture says that good is what surrounds and is inside (the outside and the inside are the same - there is no deception) - Hebrew Word Pictures~ Dr Frank T Seekins

God is good and what he created is declared good (that's includes you and me).

The serpent deceives causing to listen to another voice causing to leave the surrounding and covering of life in God and be surrounded by other voice.  The voice of death!

The choice in the garden was between the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (being wise in own eyes). This deceptive appetite drove the decision thus causing separation.

It's interesting to see the curse the Lord put on the serpent, to be driven upon and by the belly.

14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou [art] cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: (Gen 3:14 KJV)

The Hebrew picture for Satan is שָׂטָן . an adversary that devours life

The woman was deceived to listen to the voice of another for the satisfaction of her belly and Adam followed suit.  The belly was looking to fill a hunger of being wise in her own eyes.  The Hebrew word Ta'ah is the twisting of the eye to deceive and lead astray.

We have twisted appetites and hungers in our belly causing all of us to be sick and deceived eventually driven to our god being our belly abandoning fellowship and relationship with the source of life.

25 The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want. (Pro 13:25 KJV)

19 Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is their] belly, and [whose] glory [is] in their shame, who mind earthly things.) (Phl 3:19 KJV)

This is our adversaries plan.  His voice.

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1Pe 5:8 KJV)

How do we stop the madness?  Reconnect back to the source of life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (Jhn 3:16-18 KJV)

Be reconciled
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: (Eph 2:16 KJV)

20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, [I say], whether [they be] things in earth, or things in heaven. (Col 1:20 KJV)

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. (Rom 10:9-11 KJV)

When we are One with the Father, we can speak the heart of the Father into the earth as Yeshua did.
20 A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; [and] with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. (Pro 18:20 KJV)

We can truly worship God in spirit and truth
23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth. (Jhn 4:23-24 KJV)

Yeshua declares...
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (Jhn 7:38 KJV)

Deeds of Darkness - David Mitts

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. (Rom 13:12)

There is a war at hand between light and darkness. While most can easily see the external manifestations of wars and rumors of wars, it is harder to see the inner struggles that we face as children of the Light.

Mostly we conjure images of darkness out of movies or memories of evil. We hear in the news about atrocities and maybe even we have experienced some of them ourselves. Our region is no stranger to evil. We are a leader in human sex trafficking. Nightly our citizens die from violent crime. Every night on average, just in the City of Seattle there are 10 reported violent crimes. King county numbers are double that.

This morning, I want to talk about a level of the deeds of darkness that Abba is dealing with in all of our lives as an answer to a prayer from the Son, Yeshua.

Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. (John 17:11)

The prayer of Yeshua is for oneness. What does that mean? Well whatever it means, it means from the perspective of the oneness that Abba is and the Son is. I want to suggest to you that it is the place of relationship. It is the place of trust and oneness. It is the place of transparency, where we allow the light to reveal all that is the darkness.
We have a tendency to deal with manifestations. If I ask “what are the deeds of darkness”, I get a list from the scriptures.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal 5:19-21)

Listen to Message

Truly these are works of the flesh, which are as Paul says, very evident. Yet I want to go a little deeper to the inside where these originate from. People do not just wake up one day and commit adultery; they don’t just have outbursts of wrath.

There is a deeper place where the oneness is disturbed. I believe from my own struggles that it is the place of the “me” that I am trying to survive with that is in conflict with Messiah in me. You see there are 2 sources in our lives. One is “me”. “I” who lives in a basic state of existential terror is at the core of my being. It is the “me” of evolution, the me of survival of the fittest. This “me” is living in darkness manipulating me and others in the light.

This “me” works in the dark and it is the source of deeds of darkness. Its objective is to destroy intimacy and create an illusion of self-sufficiency. It uses self-statements like “I don’t need you”. “I can take care of myself”. The “I” of the dark place is terrified of discovery. It seeks to reinforce itself. How do “I” reinforce myself? Well since “I” am actually an illusion, I do it by trying to overcome my fear of disappearing. I protect myself. I compare myself.

At the core of this identity is a twisting of life, which the Scriptures call iniquity. The enemy of this false self is the Light of the Word. In this place, I actually hate the scriptures because they resist the lie that I am living.

For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. (Gal 5:17)

The Holy Spirit in me restrains this dweller of the deep that is hidden in me. The hidden one tries to manipulate the scriptures to gain some kind of control. If I feel threatened for example in a relationship or by a truth, I feel the need to reinterpret the scriptures to accommodate my identity and its desire to survive. Out of this come the true deeds of darkness.

You see deeds of darkness are really attempts at survival of the me that the cross is all about. This is “the life” of an identity that is rooted in self-preservation. It is pride itself.
Yeshua spoke of this as the life that needs to be lost.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mat 16:24-26)

You see we are in a battle for our souls. This battle is between light and dark. But instead of looking for agents of darkness outside of ourselves, we need to realize that the true battle is inside of ourselves. There is an attraction to the dark, which is the realm of our self-protection, our self-justification that will cause us to lose our souls.

You see Yeshua came to die for our darkness to be eliminated. Let’s look at the core salvation message.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized. (John 3:16-22)

You see Yeshua came as light to the people of darkness. Darkness is just the condition of being alone in our identity...This is both the result of sin and condemnation and the condemnation itself as a condition of the darkness. When we are in self-preservation, when we are defending ourselves, when we are justifying our actions and our perspectives, we are in darkness. Darkness is life apart from the light. The light is Yeshua, Jesus. But it isn’t just about receiving the light. We also have to walk in the light. To do that we have to release the addiction to isolation and control. We have to become transparent to others and to the light.

I have been contending with the spirit of divorce lately. We live in a culture of broken covenant. This is because of darkness. We get hurt and rather than repent, which we don’t think we need to do because we are the victim in the story. Then we think our pain justifies isolation. This is walking into darkness. Self-protection is always a deed of darkness. It requires the idolatry of ourselves, thinking we can protect ourselves. What it always leaves out of the equation is light.

What we need to understand is this is normal. This is what normal people do. It is the condition of man. What we need is a true repentance. We need to abandon ourselves to the light.

One last section of scripture and then I want us to consider repentance. By repentance I don’t just mean an acknowledgement of sin but also a commitment to the light. Look with me at

1 John 1
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life—the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us—that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

The light is all about relationship, or fellowship.

And these things we write to you that your joy may be full. This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

You see the proof of our salvation is relationship, fellowship with one another. This is NOT a gospel of individual salvation.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. (1Jn 1:1-2:6)

You see our salvation is about a conscious walk of opening up our heart to Him. He must be the source and the resource for our lives. This means we have to give up other resources.

This means that we cannot look to friends as the resource. This means even though we have fellowship and we are created for relationship, it has to be one of transparency and trust that can only come from Him. This means we will keep His commandments, not as laws to be followed but as surrendered will.

SO, let’s determine to walk in the light and NOT in the dark!!

Revelation of Abba's Love - Charles D Harris

8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. [1Jo 4:8 NASB]

Is it safe to say that not having a deep down inner confidence that our creator loves us, created us unique, wonderfully,  rejoices over us, etc that it causes us to feel unsettled in our hearts.  “Who am I?” and “Why am I hear?” are 2 simple questions that plague the heart of man from the womb of our mother until our dying day.
Think for a moment when you felt a sense of “knowing” about yourself concerning anything.  Maybe you discovered you have a gift to teach, an ability to listen, a business mind, a tender love for children.  As you discovered and explored deeper those areas you gained more and more confidence.  Some of you may have pursued careers or dreams with that revelation thus gaining more confidence about Who you think you are. However in those pursuits you probably hit a wall, still not having that deep seated rest of “knowing” who you are? Or why you’re here.

How many would like to be settled in your heart those questions… Know Who I am and Why I’m here in your heart?
There is a longing of the heart to have those questions answer for us to be settled.
The scripture says “the one who does not love does not know God”.  The Hebrew word “know” is yada intimacy, oneness.

Last week David spoke of the Living free of fear : The Reality of Abba’s Love - David Mitts the revelation of God as Father coming into the earth through
Avram became Avraham. Look with me at Gen 17:3-7:
Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, "As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. (Gen 17:3-7).
What we need to realize is that Abba is establishing something here.  He is making a covenant with a man who is to be a Father.  He is not just a father to his seed, his descendants, but a father to the nations, the gentiles.  This means that Abraham brings the anointing of Fathering.”

Let’s look at Hebrew to get a picture of the father.
Av in Hebrew means Father אָב
Our scripture says “God is Love”, the Hebrew word for love is Ahav אָהַב
The Hey in the middle is “revealing” the heart of the father

Let’s take a moment and “yada” the Hebrew word to know intimately He IS love rather than He DOES love.  Many people are trying to perform to get God to love them not “knowing” HE IS LOVE and in HIS love he gives.

16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.[Jhn 3:16-17 NASB]

The absence of this revelation brings about a “longing” for the father’s love which the soul and the flesh provides substitute or “other god’s. The Hebrew word Avah אָוָה

As David spoke last week the greatest thing for Jesus to hear was “This is my Son in whom I am well pleased." To hear the voice of the father affirmation…satisfies the longing of the heart.
The greatest commandment according to Yeshua is the Hear the father’s voice
29 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, 'HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD; 30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.'[Mar 12:29-30 NASB]
The revelation of his love and acceptance of us cast all fear away.  There is nothing for it to cling to because my heart is at peace.
8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. ... 16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. [1Jo 4:8, 16-17 NASB]

In Hebrews the author speaks of a rest for the people of God.  That rest I believe is a “knowing”
7 He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS." ... 9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. 11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. [Heb 4:7, 9-11 NASB]

Once I have revelation of the father and my place with him.  I become “one” with him as Yeshua prayed in John 17, we would be, thus bringing me in “under the shadow of his wings” (covenant term of protection outlined in Psalm 91)

I spoke of “Giants in our land” the last few weeks.  It is the land of our inheritance as part of covenant.  It is where our rest resides.
  • Hitite – terror
  • Girgashite – flesh, religion
  • Amorite – “free speech” (loose lips)
  • Canaanite – dehumanizing , dishonor, Asherah (sexuality) and Molech (child sacrifice)
  • Jebusite – threshing place – lord over, rule through fear and intimidation (heaviness)
  • Perrizite - unwalled, unprotected (thieving)
  • Hivite - deception

We can see evidence of these spirits alive and operating all around and in us bringing fear and unsettlement.  We can find ourselves like all of Israel when David went to bring lunch to his brothers during a standoff between Israel and the Philistines.
[1Sa 17:18, 22-26 NASB] 18 "Bring also these ten cuts of cheese to the commander of their thousand, and look into the welfare of your brothers, and bring back news of them. ... 22 Then David left his baggage in the care of the baggage keeper, and ran to the battle line and entered in order to greet his brothers. 23 As he was talking with them, behold, the champion, the Philistine from Gath named Goliath, was coming up from the army of the Philistines, and he spoke these same words; and David heard them. 24 When all the men of Israel saw the man, they fled from him and were greatly afraid. 25 The men of Israel said, "Have you seen this man who is coming up? Surely he is coming up to defy Israel. And it will be that the king will enrich the man who kills him with great riches and will give him his daughter and make his father's house free in Israel." 26 Then David spoke to the men who were standing by him, saying, "What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should taunt the armies of the living God?"
See David was settled in who he was in the covenant
As the word of God searches our hearts he is delivering the giants into our hands to destroy through revelation of his love and truth in that area where we can come out of agreement with the lies of the giants and true of his word bringing us into rest.

12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. [Heb 4:12-16 NASB]

As we encounter life’s trials and circumstances we must cry out to the father for that sense of rest again.
15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" [Rom 8:15 NASB]

Yeshua did this as he was facing the cross
36 And He was saying, "Abba! Father! All things are possible for You; remove this cup from Me; yet not what I will, but what You will." [Mar 14:36 NASB]

Your mission: Realize you are a Son!
6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" [Gal 4:6 NASB]

Living free of fear : The Reality of Abba’s Love - David Mitts

As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." (Mat 3:16-17)

Because we have inherited a theology born out of rebellion and disconnectedness, we tend to lose the Hebraic context of what we read.

The Scriptures are embedded in a context.  That context is derived from a culture that was birthed by the Father, when He covenanted with Abraham.

When we look at Abraham we see the nature of the vision that Abba has for us.

This means that Abraham brings the anointing of Fathering.

What does it mean to bring the covenant reality of Fathering to the nations?  Well it means that through this covenant we can relate to God as our Father.  Now, this may not immediately click with us, so let me take a moment to share some insights into this reality.

Take for a moment and think of the word dad.  Who gets to use it?  If a child calls their father by their given name, i.e. David what does that mean?  Who does that?  Only a true son or daughter can use the name dad.

So when Abraham was given by covenant the position of being Father to the nations, this is bringing the revelation of dad to the nations.  You see the nations know God as God, all-powerful omnipotent ruler of all.  Abrahams covenant brings Him as dad.

When a child calls to their dad and has a need what does dad do?  Dad is moved by his heart connection!  He doesnt respond on any other basis.  The child asks on another basis.  That basis is trust, or what the Bible calls faith.  That trust or faith is grounded in love.

Abrahams covenant is the basis of all covenants.  He embodied the Fathering, or if you will his covenant with the Father was to reveal the heart of God as Father.

This came in the name change.  Avram is aleph-bet-resh-mem.  It is made up of 2 words Av and Ram.  Av means father and ram means most high.  SO Avram means most high father.  When God made the Fathering covenant with the one in the earth whose name was most high father He added a Hey.  Now Hey is in the name of God but also means the revelation of something.  So one way to look at Abrams name change is to extend His fathering role to all nations which is true, but another aspect is that Abram was to reveal or make known the Fathers nature to all by changing the image of God from the ALL-Powerful creator God who gives and takes away, to one who is Daddy to His children.
This is so important because the very next thing Abba does with Abraham is deal with the issue of their barrenness.

Now, the Apostle Paul in writing to the Church in Rome gives us some insight into this miracle: Romans 4:16-22

Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all (as it is written, "I HAVE MADE YOU A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS") in the presence of Him whom he believedGod, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, "SO SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE." And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore "IT WAS ACCOUNTED TO HIM FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS."
(Rom 4:16-22)

Now, we tend to focus of the faith part of this verse which is important.  BUT, I want to look at it maybe a little differently today.  You see Abba changed Avrams name to Abraham.  He changed it to reveal or if you will make Abram-Abraham a revelation of a new kind of relationship in the earth.  God, would now birth supernatural children through His seed.  He takes a letter of His name, the Hey and puts in Abrahams name, the Hey the letter of revelation and reveals or if you will makes possible the impossible of a dead husk of a man and woman bringing forth a new birth.  he supernaturally makes Abraham and Sarah, mom and dad by revealing Himself as Abba as Father.  Can you see it?

Now, He is in the earth scene as a God who is Father.  Father to whom??  The children who bear His seed, His promise.  This is more than a biological relationship even spiritually.  His is not just the biological sperm donor, but the actual Father.  He is everything meant by that revelation.  SO much so that in the next chapter Abraham as the representative of the Father argues for Sodom and Gemorrah.  Who has the right to challenge the Father?  The one who is the agent of the revelation of the Father.

Now, the role of the Father comes into focus.  What is a Father?  Well there many aspects to Fathering with the Fathers heart, but one of the most important is to receive into our hearts the totality of His Love for us.  Romans 5:8 gives us a glimpse into this reality:

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Rom 5:5)

What does it mean to have the love of God lured into our hearts by His Holy Spirit?  What is the love of God?  Well if we read on in Romans 5:9-13 it tells us that this love was demonstrated for us by the giving of Yeshua:

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. (Rom 5:6-10).

There is something then in the revelation of who God is in our lives that is sacrificial.  He sacrificed His Son for us.  As the revelation of Fatherhood in the earth we know that His love for us was of such a nature that He was willing through His precious Son to die for us, to set us free.  Set free from the wrath that was due to us.  That is the primary expression, scripturally of how insanely crazy about you as His child that Abba is.  Can you grasp that passion?  Can you let the revelation of what a true Father is as manifested by the Father into your heart?

Now realize by the eyes of your heart, the revealing that is in your heart, that He has implanted that kind of love in you.  You have His sacrificial heart and you have that heart in you towards children of the spirit, your own biological if that is the case and spiritual, of the dead womb.  They are in the world for you even if you are still Avram and not yet fully awakened to being Avraham.

Look with me at Luke 11:11-13:

If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" (Luk 11:11-13)

What does it mean that He gives His Holy Spirit to those who ask him?  Yes, we know it means being born-again.  BUT, born-again into what or who?  The kingdom. Yes, but what or who is the kingdom?  I want to suggest to you that the kingdom we are born into is the actual seed of the Father who is reproducing after His own kind.  He is birthing fathers!

He is birthing Fathers, male or female, who have His love and their ground of being.  We are loved first and then we act. Look at 1John 4:10

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (1Jn 4:10).

We are grounded in His Love! You see if we can receive that then we can act appropriately to that love.  If we havent been awakened to that reality that we are striving to get there.  WE HAVE NO CHOICE. We are birthed in love so there is no option called living without it.  In fact you could say that ALL that we do is in some way a response to the need to be born-again to the revelation of His Love as the Father for us.  The one where He calls us by name, the one where He fully claims us and makes us into His children expressing Him into the earth!  This is why He gives us His nature.  His Spirit is not just an encounter with power. It is that.  But His Spirit is something much more profound!

His Spirit is His deposit into our hearts of His character, His goodness, all that He is.  Meditate on that!  Let that reality come int your being.  His love is His Spirit.  A natural father wants his kids to learn what he has learned and avoid the mistakes he has made.  What drives a father or a mother crazy is to see their kids emulating their own bad behaviors.  There is an anger that arises on the inside that is rooted in the shame of self awareness.  As parents, we fear our own past.  I know I do.  And yet unless we allow ourselves to become Avraham, receive into our hearts the love of the Father then we will teach and minister to our children, natural and spiritual out of our striving.  Fear will be the basis of our relationships.

We have to receive the love of the Father first.  Yeshua didnt come just to die but to reveal the Father.

All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. (Mat 11:27)

This revealing is grounded in love, not in fear.  Yeshua began his ministry in the earth with this revelation when He came out of the waters of Baptism.

As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." (Mat 3:16-17)

You can hear the empowerment of the revealed God and Father.  The son whom I love.  This is who you are: The son or daughter who He loves.  This is what launched His ministry because He couldnt bring a gospel of love without first being born again Himself into it.  This might shake some theological pillars, but I believe that without this impartation of the Spirit of God as the seed of the Fathers Fatherhood, Yeshua couldnt have been who He needed to be.  His ministry of love needed this death of His own old nature, as good as it was, for this new nature of the Son to come forth.  The baptism and the receiving of the Fathers Spirit was essential that He would operate in love not fear.  Giving and serving, not performance and striving.

One final scripture and then we pray: Mathew 17:

Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, led them up on a high mountain by themselves; and He was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light. And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him. Then Peter answered and said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, let us make here three tabernacles: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!"
(Mat 17:1-5)

The Father who is reveling Fatherhood, declares Himself again and gives a fresh birthing of His Spirit again, at the mountain and includes Moses and Elijah.  What is this?  Why Moses and Elijah?  Who are they?  Moses is the Fathers heart of deliverance from bondage and freedom into the order, the light of the Father.  Elijah is this strange prophet who brought the revelation of  Godly authority, provision, and unity.  Arent these characteristics of Fathers that we need form the Father heart??  What was Yeshua about to do now?  He was about to go to Jerusalem, the seat of authority and die for these keys to the kingdom for us.  There is so much in the lives of these 2 men that is the heart of the Father.  BUT The most important thing to take away is the declaration of love as the foundation stone for the Son to give His life!

And the command to shma, to hear!  The Father gives His love so we can hear.  Why? Because faith comes by hearing.  We need to receive His love or we cannot even hear.  People don't care what you know until they know how much you care.  We cannot hear the scriptures, receive the prophetic words unless we know that we are loved by the Father who is personal to us.

Malachi 4 sums up this reality:
"For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up," Says the LORD of hosts, "That will leave them neither root nor branch. But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this," Says the LORD of hosts. "Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel, With the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse. (Mal 4:1-6)

It is all about the Fathers heart for His beloved sons and daughters in whom He is well pleased!
